Degrees The Department of Music offers courses which lead to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Music and All-level Music Education.

Courses Offered Applied courses: instrumental, piano, voice; Bands: marching/pep, concert, jazz, drumline; Choir, Music Theory, African-American Music History, and Conducting
Instrumental Opportunities
- travel to surrounding areas and distant cities
- perform at on and off-campus events, sporting events, parades, State Fair, etc.
- play wide variety of styles (concert, jazz, marching/pep, hip-hop/R&B, brass/woodwind/percussion ensembles, solo, etc.)
Vocal Opportunities
- travel in-state and out of state, annual spring tours, etc.
- perform at campus events, concerts, churches, State Fair, etc.
- sing various styles (gospel, concert, hip-hop/R&B, jazz, etc.)
Musicians Needed
- drumline percussionist
- electric and acoustic guitar/bass players
- brass
- woodwinds
- pianists/keyboardists
- trapset drummers
- all vocalist (solo, choral, etc.)
Requirements
- at least three years of high school band or music group/class
- must audition for scholarships
