Grants

Grants are gift aid that does not have to be repaid. Eligibility is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

FEDERAL GRANTS


Federal Pell Grant
- offered to qualified undergraduates who have not earned a bachelor's degree. Amounts range from $200 - $5,550, annually.

Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- offered to qualified undergraduates who are Pell grant eligible.

STATE GRANTS


Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG)
- a state grant for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. Awarded to students who are enrolled for at least six hours per semester or more and who are Texas residents and cannot receive an Athletic Scholarship. Continuing recipients must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours each academic year and must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or more.

LEAP/SLEAP
- Institutional state grant awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled for at least six hours per semester or more and who are Texas residents.

Texas
Grant Renewal - A state grant awarded to recent high school graduates who have previously received the Texas Grant Initial award and have graduated from High School with an advanced or recommended high school curriculum. Awarded to students with financial need and who have maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or more.
